Certified home health aides — Monmouth & Ocean County

Why Work Here

This is a small agency in Tinton Falls, not a branch of something national. You'll work with the same clients rather than a different house every day, and the scheduler knows your name because there are few enough of us that she has to.

A registered nurse oversees every plan of care, so when something changes with a client you are not the one deciding alone what to do about it. The social workers on staff pick up the things that aren't care — the benefits paperwork, the family that needs a program nobody told them about.

What We Ask

  • CHHA certification through the New Jersey Board of Nursing, current.
  • Reliable transportation. Our clients are spread across Monmouth and Ocean County and most shifts require driving between them.
  • Minimum availability of two shifts a week.
  • Consistency. Our whole model is the same aide returning to the same client. That's the job.

What the Work Is Actually Like

Most shifts are personal care and the routine around it — helping someone wash and dress, getting breakfast made, prompting medication, keeping the house in order, and being someone to talk to for a few hours.

Some clients have dementia. Some have just come home from hospital and are frightened of falling. Some mainly need company and will tell you so on the third visit rather than the first.

We do not send you into homes that aren't safe, and we don't ask you to do transfers that need two people. If a client's needs move past what a CHHA should be doing alone, that is our problem to solve, not yours.

My certification is from another state. Can I work for you?
New Jersey requires a CHHA certification issued or endorsed by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. If you're certified elsewhere, there's a reciprocity process — call and we'll tell you what it involves.
Can I work part-time?
Yes. Two shifts a week is the minimum availability we can schedule around.
How soon would I start?
Immediately after orientation, which takes one day, once your certification, references and background check are cleared.
Do I need my own car?
Yes. Clients are spread across Monmouth and Ocean County and most schedules involve driving between homes.
Will I be sent to a different house every day?
No. That's the opposite of how this agency works. You'll have the same clients.
What if a client's needs change?
Tell the office. A registered nurse reviews the plan of care. If the work moves past what a CHHA should do alone, we change the plan — that's not on you to manage.
Do you do background checks?
Yes, as the state requires, along with certification verification and reference checks.
