Home Care in Monmouth County: Common Questions

Is this medical or skilled nursing care?
No. We provide non-medical home care: daily support, routine and safety. For skilled nursing — wound care, injections, IV therapy, physical therapy — you need a licensed home health agency.
How quickly can care begin in Monmouth County?
Most families start within one to three days, depending on caregiver availability and your schedule. After a hospital discharge, we work to start sooner.
Does insurance pay for home care?
Sometimes. We accept Aetna, AmeriHealth, Cigna, Humana and Oscar plans, and many Medicare Advantage plans. Traditional Medicare does not cover non-medical home care. Long-term care insurance, VA Aid and Attendance and NJ FamilyCare / Medicaid MLTSS can also pay for it, and private pay is always an option. We verify your parent’s benefits before care starts, so there are no surprise bills.
What if the caregiver isn’t the right fit?
You meet the aide we’ve matched to your family before care begins. If the fit isn’t right, we reassign.
Do you offer 24/7 or live-in care?
No. We don't currently offer overnight, 24-hour or live-in care. Our care is scheduled visits, with a minimum of four hours per visit, 16 to 20 hours a week. If your parent needs someone there around the clock, we'll say so on the first call and point you to an agency that provides it.
What makes you different from the national franchise agencies?
Local ownership. Peace oversees quality, hiring and operations herself. We don’t follow corporate quotas or scripts — we’re accountable directly to Monmouth County families.
