What This Actually Looks Like

An aide arrives, checks what's in the fridge and what's past its date, and makes a meal your mother will actually eat — the way she likes it, at the temperature she likes it. She sits with her while she eats, keeps a glass of water within reach, and leaves the kitchen tidy.

When groceries run low, she shops from a list built around what your mother likes. If your mother starts eating less than she should, you hear about it.

What's included

  • Meal planning around preferences and dietary needs
  • Grocery shopping and keeping the pantry stocked with basics
  • Cooking and light cleanup — dishes, counters, the kitchen put back
  • Hydration reminders throughout the visit
  • A regular routine for breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Company at mealtimes, and gentle encouragement to eat
  • Medication reminders — prompting, not administering

When Families Usually Call Us About This

  • When your father is losing weight because he forgets to eat or can't face cooking.
  • When the fridge is full and nothing gets made, and the food goes out of date unopened.
  • After a hospital stay, when shopping and cooking alone aren't possible yet.
  • When you're worried about fluids as much as food, and meals happen at random or not at all.
  • When getting to the store has become the hard part of the week.

Where This Service Ends

This is non-medical care. We make sure meals and fluids keep happening; we don't manage a medical diet. Here's exactly where the line falls.

This service covers

  • Planning, shopping and cooking around your parent's preferences
  • Following a diet your parent's doctor or dietitian has already set
  • Encouraging meals and fluids, and telling you when intake drops
  • Light cleanup after cooking

This service does not cover

  • Nutrition plans that need precise calculation or medical supervision — that's a dietitian's work, and we follow their guidance
  • Tube feeding, or any feeding that requires a nurse
  • Making someone eat who won't — we encourage, and we tell you
  • Deep cleaning — the kitchen is left tidy, not scrubbed out

If your father's weight or diet has become a medical question, his doctor or a dietitian should set the plan — and we'll help him keep to it at home.

Call any time. After-hours calls are returned the next morning.

Twenty-two years in home care, the last of them running this agency out of Tinton Falls rather than a franchise office in another state.

Every plan of care here is overseen by a registered nurse. The social workers on staff hold master's degrees, which matters more than it sounds like it should — it's usually how a family finds out about a state or community program nobody had mentioned to them.

Peace's direct line is 732-685-0786. When you call it, she answers. Not a receptionist, and not a national intake line.

Questions About Meal Prep & Nutrition Support

Do your aides follow medical diets, like diabetic or cardiac diets?
We support the routine and preferences around a diet your parent's medical team has set. Plans that need precise calculation or medical supervision are beyond non-medical care, so we work to the doctor's or dietitian's guidance.
Can you do the grocery shopping?
Yes, as part of the schedule. We'll make shopping lists around what your mother likes and keep the pantry stocked with the basics.
My father refuses to eat. Can you make sure he does?
We can't force him. We can make meals he likes, encourage him, and keep him company at the table, and a steady routine usually means fewer missed meals. If we're concerned, we'll tell you.
What if she's a very particular eater?
That's what the in-home visit is for. We'll ask about favorites, dislikes, textures and temperatures — whatever matters to her. The goal is meals she'll actually eat, not meals that sit untouched.
Can you help with weight loss or weight gain?
We can keep eating consistent, which supports a healthy weight. For significant weight concerns or medical nutrition therapy, a dietitian or doctor should set the plan, and we support their recommendations.
Do you clean up after cooking?
Yes. Dishes, counters and a basic kitchen reset are included. It isn't deep cleaning, but the kitchen is left tidy.
How many hours do we have to book?
The minimum is four hours per visit, 16 to 20 hours a week — roughly $560 to $760 a week before any insurance. Costs and coverage has the full breakdown.
Does insurance cover this?
Traditional Medicare does not cover non-medical home care. Many Medicare Advantage plans do. We verify your specific plan before care begins.
